Eco-friendly service uses little water to wash a car

REHOBOTH BEACH -- Give Mark Quigley a small part of your day and less than half a gallon of water and he can wash you car or SUV.

As the owner of Go Green Mobile Clean, he goes to his clients and cleans their vehicles using eco-friendly products and a fraction of the water used by other companies.

"I've washed and waxed a 24-foot motor home with half a gallon of water," Quigley said. "The owner couldn't believe it."

The secret lies in the products Quigley uses, which he helped develop.

"The beauty behind a 'green' business is that it is 100 percent eco-friendly," he said. "All products we use are biodegradable solvents, human and pet friendly. There's also no discharge or pollution to our environment."

Quigley has been in the car-washing business for more than 20 years. After seeing how much water people wasted, he decided to experiment. According to Quigley, his new products save about 100 gallons of water for every car he cleans.

"When we finish, people tell us their car didn't look that good when it was new," he said.

Jill Porter of Milton hired Go Green Mobile Clean several times to clean her car.

"I'm really eco-friendly, but I didn't understand the car washing," she said. "After one wash, I couldn't believe he used less than a gallon of water. He didn't need our water or electricity. It looked so nice."

After seeing the benefits of the wash, Porter said she will hire Quigley again.

"After watching Mark, there's no way I can go back," she said. "There's no comparison."

Quigley offers three types of washes: basic, premium, and extreme. All washes are exterior only, and prices depend on the size of the vehicle.

And his contribution to the environment doesn't stop after the car wash. For every service, Quigley's company plants a tree.

Go Green Premium - additional attention for interior and exterior cleaning services
